Heat and mass process technology: Using comptational fluid dynamics we analyse processes such as heat and mass transfer between phases. We focus in the fields of evaporation, condensation, conjugated heat transfer, fluidaized beds and drying.

 


 

Mechanical process engineering: Most of our research is focused in the field of mixing devices. We consider dynamical (mixing vessels with several stirrers) and statical devices (pipe mixers). We study mass and heat transfer during mixing. Furthermore we work in the field of pipe related phenomena (flow of suspensions, pneumatical transport) and mechanical separation devices (filtration, sedimentation).


 

Experiments in process engineering: We measure flow properties using laser Doppler anemometry (LDA) and particle image velocitymetry (PIV). Furthermore we also employ hotwire measurements and thermocouples..
